I. Role/Overall objectives
The Data Analyst will be part of the Client's Business Intelligence team that is responsible for creating, publishing, and maintaining standardized data across the organization. The Data Analyst will work with functional team and BI team to document business requirements and translate this into automated reports, data dashboards, and graphs/visualizations used to drive business decisions. This technical position will be primarily responsible for the technical architecture, validation, and final delivery of the data in a concise, impactful manner. 
II. Key Accountabilities/ Execution:
  • Collaborate with business users and BI team to understand requirements, help define scope and technical solution, and ultimately translate business requirements into key deliverables
  • Review, evaluate, design, implement, and maintain ETL programs
  • Identify data sources, construct data decomposition diagrams, and document the process
  • Develop ETL programs to load the data warehouse for reporting purposes. Create extract files in a structured format for other business purposes
  • Validate data sources and quality vs. specifications. Prepare for user acceptance testing, including test cases and final validation
  • Continuously work on automation and process efficiencies to minimize manual reporting
  • Ensure reports, tools and project documentation is complete, current, accurate, and stored appropriately
  • Data/report issue resolution: document database specifications, provide fault isolation and resolution. Enhance database and reports for optimum performance & client impact.
  • Design and deliver end-user training and training materials; provide technical support as needed
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for improvements
  • Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of the manager to meet business objectives
III. Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Management or Economics
  • 3+ years of experience in business application design, development, testing and deployment
  • 3+ years of SQL programming using MS SQL Server, Oracle, and/or other databases
  • Oracle ERP Experience
  • Good knowledge and experience of data warehouse architecture, design principles, practices, systems development, & analysis
  • Experience in developing Tableau reporting desired
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and translate them into design and application functionality
  • Expert knowledge of MS Excel and MS Access
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas or technical information to audiences with varying levels of technical proficiency
  • Self-starter, who accomplishes goals with broad direction and minimal day-to-day supervision
  • Flexible, with ability to quickly adapt to changes in business direction that may impact initiatives in progress with minimal noise
Proficient at multi-tasking, can manage multiple initiatives concurrently and deliver results on time
