Sr DevOps Engineer

POSITION PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is, but is not limited to, providing development operations processes and procedures to Company's applications development and infrastructure to ensure quality software processes and a quality end-user experience.
This is a full-time, exempt position working core hours of Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm CST. The position will report to the Manager of Infrastructure.
POSITIONAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills, including the ability to work between developers and our infrastructure to determine root-cause
  • Skilled with continuous integration processes
  • Advanced skills in Java environments, Java Application Server administration and JVM tuning
  • Advanced skills in Docker, container-based applications, and service discovery
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix and/or Windows Administration
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required)
  • Advanced knowledge of application clustering / load balancing concepts and technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of SQLServer, MySQL and NoSQL technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of code and script (Python, Ruby, Bash, etc)
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
  • Advanced/Expert Ability to utilize database queries
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related
  • Seven or more years of experience in a software development or systems administrator role
  • Significant experience with automation/configuration management using either Automic/UC4, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt or an equivalent
  • Certification in security (PCI, FISMA, SOC 1, etc.) and industry best practices preferred
  • Experience in systems administration preferred
  • Experience in cloud environment required
  • Certification in AWS Preferred
  • Experience with log management tools like ELK, Splunk, etc.
