Sustaining Engineer Development Manager

This position provides leadership and direction to the entire development operations for the Sustaining Engineering team to support products in production through the use of Agile based development using continuous integration, continuous testing, and continuous release.  This is a hands-on position and requires participation in the various activities from planning through execution to meet the desired objectives.
Essential Functions:
  1. Oversees the entire software development process for the Sustaining Engineering team
  2. Drives the maturity and standardization across the Sustaining Engineering in the areas of development, communication, defect prevention, automation and overall effectiveness in supporting the development lifecycle for products in production
  3. Partners with the business, product management, QA, cloud operations, and program management to ensure that all activities occur in a timely fashion and to the level of quality demanded by the business requirements
  4. Negotiates, leverages and manages internal and external resources to deliver excellence with a cost effective model
  5. Provides leadership and hands on activities to drive a continuous delivery paradigm
  6. Establishes work plan and staffing for project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel to meet target dates and milestones
  7. Trains, manages, and mentors team for individual and company success
  8. Performs other duties as assigned
 
 
Essential Education, Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 7+ years of experience with software development using Agile
  • 5+ years of experience with software development in a SaaS environment
  • 5+ years of experience with continuous integration
  • 5+ years of leadership experience and managing staff
  • Experience with outsourcing a plus
  • Experience with Jira,
  • Strong communication skills
